The question

What is the ruling on washing clothes in a regular washing machine with little water after submerging garments soiled with urine and feces, wringing them out, and repeating this three times, knowing that the water mixes with dirt and the smell of sweat? Is it a condition for purification to submerge them in water? And what is the ruling on placing a tissue in the vagina to prevent discharge and repeating prayers due to the obsessive thought of discharge?

The answer

Discard the whispers [waswas] and pay no attention to them. Do not rule clothes impure based merely on doubt, for the original state of clothes is purity until certain, firm conviction of impurity is attained. To wash away impurity, it is sufficient to immerse the impure spot with water once. What you are doing is enough to purify the clothes. Vaginal discharge is pure, but it necessitates ablution (wudu’). However, if you suffer from its incontinence (salasil), then perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun. You may also follow the Maliki opinion, which states that ablution is not obligatory for the emission of this discharge if it reaches the extent of incontinence.
