And is it permissible to bend the knees when bowing (rukūʿ) and to place the wrists on the knees when prostrating (sujūd) in prayer?

Reciting the Quran is permissible when not facing the Qibla (definition); it is preferable to face it, but not obligatory. Similarly, reciting the Quran is permissible without wudu for someone who is not in a state of major ritual impurity (junub). Bending the knees in ruku' (bowing) and placing the wrists on the knees in sujud (definition) (prostration) is permissible, and the prayer is valid. However, it is better to adhere to the legally established postures in order to follow the Sunnah (definition).
