Is one who intentionally delays prayer until its time has passed considered a disbeliever, and is it necessary for him to perform ghusl and utter the Two Testimonies anew?

Scholars differ on whether one who abandons prayer out of laziness, not denial, is an apostate. Those who consider him an apostate apply the rulings of apostates to him. An apostate, upon returning to Islam, must pronounce the Two Testimonies. If his apostasy was due to denying something known to be an essential part of the religion, then in addition to the Two Testimonies, he must affirm what he denied. As for ghusl (definition) (ritual bathing) upon embracing or returning to Islam, there is a difference of opinion: the Malikis and Hanbalis consider it obligatory, while the Hanafis and Shafi'is consider it recommended.
