What is the ruling on masturbation in Islam, and is forgiveness granted to one who engaged in it out of ignorance of its ruling, and are their prayers, fasting, and supplications accepted in this state?

Masturbation is forbidden, based on the Almighty's saying: "And those who guard their private parts, Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed - But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." It is an injustice and an aggression. Allah has legislated marriage for those who are able, and for those who cannot, they should fast. As for the acceptance of acts of worship, that is up to Allah, and among the reasons for their acceptance is piety, "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous." Ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) is obligatory for whoever masturbated and discharged semen, and their prayer is invalid if they prayed without performing ghusl while being able to do so. Discharging semen during the daytime in Ramadan (definition) invalidates the fast, and those days must be made up.
