Does the excretion of very small worms from the anus—accompanied by feeling them but not seeing them, and not knowing whether they came out with wetness or not—necessitate istinja' according to those who say they nullify ablution?

Firstly: The majority of scholars hold the view that the exit of worms from the anus invalidates ablution, whether this is habitual or rare. This is the stance of the Hanafis, Shafi'is, Hanbalis, and some Malikis, who argue that everything that exits from the two private parts (front and back) invalidates ablution.

Secondly: As for purification (istinja (definition)') from the exit of worms, it is only obligatory if the exit point is contaminated with impurity. If the worms exit dry or do not cause contamination of the exit point, then istinja' is not required, because the purpose of istinja' is to remove impurity, and there is no need for it if there is no tangible impurity.

In the case of feeling worms exiting without seeing them or any contamination, this does not necessitate istinja', either because the sensation is inaccurate, or because the worms are small and do not cause noticeable contamination.
