Is it necessary to remove every trace of urine when cleaning oneself with a tissue (istinja' bi al-mandil), or is a small amount remaining on the glans excusable?

When cleaning oneself with tissues (istinja (definition)' with منديل), one must remove the impurity and wipe the area until it is strongly presumed that the impurity has been completely removed. The majority of scholars do not pardon a small amount of urine impurity, while the Hanafis pardon an amount equivalent to the size of a dirham. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds the view that a small amount of impurity is pardoned absolutely. It is advisable to avoid excessive scrupulousness (waswas) in matters of purification.
