What is the ruling on water flowing over a ritually impure tile with the intention of purifying it, and is it obligatory to taste the water that separates from the impurity to ensure the removal of its trace, or is merely what is apparent sufficient?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The impure tiles are purified by pouring water over them until the color and smell of the impurity are removed. It is not a condition to taste the separated water or to verify with certainty that the impurity has gone; rather, a strong presumption of cleanliness is sufficient. The ground and what is connected to it are purified by pouring abundant water over them until they are submerged, unless there remains a trace that can only be removed with difficulty.
