Is it permissible to perform tayammum from a wall, marble, or tile when unable to perform wudu, and is this tayammum valid if one wipes their face and hands with it, and then needs to wipe their eyes or eat thereafter?
It is not permissible to abandon ablution (wudu') for dry ablution () except when one is unable to use water. A sick person who is unable to perform ablution by himself is required to seek assistance from someone to help him perform it, even if it is for a fee.
If the wife is willing to assist her husband, he must seek her help, unless waking her would cause her harm. In that case, he can prepare the ablution water beforehand and wash as many of his limbs as he can, then perform tayammum for the rest.
If he is unable to use water and finds no one to assist him, he is obligated to perform tayammum with dust or whatever serves its purpose from the pure earth, and he does not need to repeat the prayer.
If he is unable to perform both ablution and tayammum, he should pray in his current state, and he does not need to repeat the prayer.
