Is the place that receives sunlight considered pure, and is the sun a purificator, and is there a religious text to that effect?

The majority of scholars hold the view that the sun does not purify the earth, and purification must be done with water. The Hanafis, however, believe that it does purify if the trace of impurity (color and smell) is removed, citing the hadith (definition): "The purification of the earth is its dryness," and the action of dogs in the Prophet's mosque (peace be upon him).

However, the Hanafis believe that it is not permissible to perform tayammum (definition) (dry ablution) on earth that has been purified by the sun or by dryness, based on the Almighty's saying: "then perform tayammum with pure earth" (Quran 5:6).

In contrast, the Malikis, Shafi'is, Hanbalis, and Zufar from the Hanafis believe that the earth is not purified by dryness, and it is not permissible to pray on it or perform tayammum with it. Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah agrees with the Hanafi school of thought regarding the purification of the earth by the sun.
