If you are in a state of (major ritual impurity) and cannot find water, you must first search for it. If you do not find it, then it is permissible for you to perform (dry ablution) and pray. Your prayer will be valid and sufficient. It is also permissible for you to recite the Qur’an after performing tayammum. However, if you pray without tayammum in this situation, your prayers are invalid, and you must make up all of them. It is not permissible for you to recite the Qur’an except for a small amount, such as an ayah for seeking refuge.
