What are the conditions for quoting from the Holy Quran? And what is the ruling on a person's statement: "As for textbooks, they go to waste, but that which benefits people remains on the earth"?
The aforementioned sentence suggests an underestimation of beneficial scientific textbooks, which is an error. This is because what the Quran describes as going away like scum is falsehood and disbelief. The foam that goes away like scum in the noble verse is a similitude for falsehood that vanishes, and the water that benefits people and remains on the earth is a similitude for truth that endures. Similarly, the dross of metals is a similitude for falsehood, and their pure essence is a similitude for truth. Thus, the believer and their creed are like the beneficial water, and the disbeliever and their disbelief are like the useless foam.
