Are there differences between the exegesis of the Quran and related matters in the Umayyad era and now?

The codification of Qur'anic exegesis during the Umayyad era, the era of the Righteous Predecessors (Salaf Saleh), was minimal and often limited to exegetical traditions (tafsir (definition) athari). Subsequently, scholars expanded in their exegesis and adopted various approaches, some of which were acceptable and others rejected. In recent times, there has been an increased expansion in opinion and derivation, and elements not belonging to exegesis, such as theories and variables, have been introduced into it. It has even been said of some interpretations that they contain everything except exegesis itself. Examples include Tafsir al-Razi in the Middle Ages and Tafsir al-Jawahir in modern times.
