What is the reason for pronouncing the letter "hāʾ" (ه) with a ḍammah (ḍammah) in the word "ʿalayhi" (عليه) in His, the Almighty's, saying: "And who fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah" (وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِمَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّهَ), and what is its grammatical analysis (iʿrāb), and what is the wisdom behind that, compared to pronouncing the letter "hāʾ" (ه) with a ḍammah (ḍammah) in the word "ansānīhi" (أنسانيه) in His, the Almighty's, saying: "And none made me forget it except Satan" (وَمَا أَنْسَانِيهُ إِلَّا الشَّيْطَانُ)?
Hafs recited, in His Almighty's saying: (وَمَا أَنْسَانِيهُ إِلَّا الشَّيْطَانُ - And none made me forget it save Satan), with a dammah on the 'ha' in "ansāneeh" according to the original vowelization of the pronoun, which is a linguistic variant, even though the kasrah is more common due to its lightness after the 'ya'. The 'ha' here is in the accusative case (maf'ūl bihi) for the verb "ansā" (made forget). As for His Almighty's saying: (وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِمَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّهَ - And who is more faithful to his covenant with Allah), the vocalization of the 'ha' in "alayhi" with a dammah has been previously explained for those who recite it with a dammah, like Hafs, along with its grammatical analysis.
