The answer

Learning of the Quran requires oral transmission and reception from proficient shaykhs; books alone are insufficient. It is preferable to bring a female teacher to the home if possible, or to attend a short course (approximately ten days). One can benefit from computers and audio recordings to listen to the recitation of proficient shaykhs to perfect the articulation points (makharij) and characteristics (sifat) of letters. The Ummah is obligated to correct the pronunciation of the Quran and to establish its letters according to the manner received from the imams of recitation whose chains connect back to the Prophetic presence. For one whose tongue does not obey or who cannot find someone to teach them, Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.
