Is it permissible for the Imam to pause at the Almighty’s saying: {and the angels} then resume recitation from: {except He and the angels and those of knowledge} in verse 18 of Surah Al Imran, and does this pause alter the meaning?

The reciter does not incur sin for an ugly beginning, as long as he did not intend a corrupt meaning. Consequently, there is no sin upon one who prays behind an Imam who begins with such a beginning.
