The answer

If it is impossible to deliver the charity to the specified recipient, the agent must return the money to the principal or seek their permission to disburse it to another party. If it is impossible to return to the principal, the agent should give the money in charity on their behalf. Funds whose owner cannot be identified should be spent on the welfare of Muslims or given in charity on behalf of their owners. Ignorance of each donor's specific share does not prevent explaining the situation to them and seeking their permission.
