Can a woman perform the ‘aqīqah for herself and her children, given that she is 39 years old, and her father did not perform the ‘aqīqah for her, nor did her husband perform it for their children, knowing that the children have reached puberty? The ' (sacrificial offering upon the birth of a child) is a confirmed according to the preponderant opinion, and the one addressed by it is the father. It does not cease to be due upon the child reaching puberty. If the father does not perform the 'Aqiqah, it is recommended for the child to perform the 'Aqiqah for himself. The (sacrificial offering on Eid al-Adha) is a confirmed Sunnah for both men and women, and it suffices for their household.
