Is one cow sufficient as an 'Aqiqah for three male children, or does each child require a separate 'Aqiqah?

Slaughtering a single cow as 'aqiqah (definition) for three males is permissible according to the Shafi'i school, and this is the preferred view, contrary to the majority. The preferred view is that of the Shafi'is, who hold that one-seventh of a camel or a cow is sufficient for 'aqiqah, because it is sufficient for the Hady (sacrifice during Hajj) and for the Udhiyah (definition) (sacrifice during Eid al-Adha).
