How sound is this supplication and the story mentioned therein: "O Allah, bless Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad. O Allah, indeed Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: You said: 'I have not hesitated in anything I am to do as much as I hesitate in taking the soul of My believing servant; he dislikes death, and I dislike displeasing him.' O Allah, so bless Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad, and hasten the relief, well-being, and victory for Your Imam, and do not displease me concerning myself or any of my loved ones"?

This supplication has not been found, nor does it have any basis in the available books. Although the apparent meaning of its words is correct, the phrase "and hasten the relief for your vicegerent" is a slogan used by some innovators. It may also be understood as seeking intercession through the status of the awliya' (saints), which is not permissible. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas has ruled that seeking intercession through individuals or their status is an innovation. Therefore, it is advisable to adhere to the supplications established in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah (definition).
