Must a husband thank his wife for her daily and routine tasks, such as preparing food and cleaning the house?

A husband's gratitude to his wife for her service and kindness is a sign of good companionship and a recognized virtue that strengthens affection. It falls under the category of thanking people, which Islam has commanded. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He who does not thank people does not thank Allah." This is because thanking Allah Almighty is accomplished by obeying Him and fulfilling His commands, and part of that is thanking those who do good to you, as their kindness is, in reality, a divine facilitation from Allah. Generally, good companionship between spouses is the foundation of marital happiness, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the best of people to his family.
