Disputed matters among Muslims must be referred to the Book and the Sunnah (definition). It is not permissible for anyone to speak about the fundamentals of religion and monotheism based on personal opinion; rather, they must take from the Book, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the predecessors. Whoever speaks with personal opinion is sinful, even if correct, and whoever derives from the Book and the Sunnah is rewarded, even if mistaken. Likewise, it is not permissible to discuss intricate issues in beliefs before the general public; they should rather be instructed with the established principles from the Book, the Sunnah, and consensus without delving into problematic details, as that leads to division and disagreement."
