The answer

We ask Allah to make us and you among those who love each other for His sake. The order of the lunar months is explained in no. 32436. Shaving the beard is forbidden, and there is no consideration for those who shave it or their large numbers, because if custom contradicts the rulings of Islam, it becomes invalid. Growing hair long for men is one of the customary practices (sunan al-'adah) of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Whoever does it as an act of imitation is upon good. It is not permissible to abandon this merely because some immoral people practice it. The length of the hair should not exceed the limits of fame (shuhrah) or diminish one's integrity (muru'ah). Sometimes, cutting the hair short may be better, depending on men's circumstances, as evidenced by the of Wa'il ibn Hujr, may Allah be pleased with him.
