Does abandoning supplication for one's parents sever sustenance?

This statement is false and fabricated. It has no basis from the Prophet (peace be upon him) nor from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). It combines two fabricated hadiths: The first, "If a servant abandons supplicating for his parents, he will be cut off from offspring and sustenance in this world," is a hadith (definition) that is not authentic, and Ahmad ibn Khalid al-Jawibari is accused of fabricating it. The second, "Whoever writes with a knotted pen and combs with a broken comb, Allah the Almighty will open for him seventy doors of poverty," is a fabricated hadith.
