Is it true that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stated that supplicating for one's parents brings provision, and what is incumbent upon one who disseminates this hadith before verifying its authenticity?

There is no authentic prophetic hadith (definition) indicating that praying for one's parents brings provision (rizq). Whatever has been narrated regarding this is very weak and cannot be attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Nevertheless, honoring one's parents is one of the greatest forms of maintaining kinship ties, and maintaining kinship ties is among the causes for the abundance and blessings of provision. Praying for one's parents is part of honoring them, especially after their passing, so it is hoped that it may be a cause for an increase in provision from this perspective, not due to the existence of specific evidence for it.
