Does lust end simply by getting married, or does the struggle to lower one's gaze and guard one's chastity continue even after marriage? And why would a married person commit adultery or not lower their gaze, despite the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) command: "Whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding chastity"?

Marriage does not prevent falling into indecency and its preliminaries, for a married person may commit adultery and look at what is forbidden. The meaning of the Hadith (definition): "O young people, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it is more apt to lower the gaze and guard the private parts," is that marriage is more conducive to guarding the eyes and private parts from what is forbidden, not that adultery and looking at what is forbidden are impossible for a married person. Striving to lower the gaze and guard the private parts continues after marriage as well, but it is easier than striving while single.
