Does the disagreement among Hadith scholars affect the authenticity of a Hadith if its narrators are trustworthy, such as the Hadith, "The Earth will be stretched on the Day of Resurrection like the stretching of a hide," concerning which there was disagreement regarding its companion [narrator] for Al-Zuhri?

It is established among scholars that all the Companions (Sahaba) are trustworthy. Therefore, the anonymity of a Companion or a discrepancy in his name does not harm the authenticity of a Hadith (definition), provided it is certain that he was a Companion and that those other than the Companion in the chain of narration were trustworthy. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar conditioned the authenticity of the Hadith "The earth will be stretched like the stretching of a hide" upon the narrator being a Companion. Similarly, Al-Suyuti considered the chain of Jabir's Hadith to be good despite the discrepancy regarding its Companion, because the anonymity of a Companion does not cause harm, as all of them are trustworthy. Consequently, the narration of Ali ibn al-Hussein from "a man of knowledge" is considered weak because it is not confirmed that the one narrated from was a Companion, whereas Jabir's Hadith is judged to be authentic.
