How authentic is the Hadith: "Allah Almighty created a thousand nations, six hundred of them in the sea and four hundred on land. The first thing to perish from these nations is the locust. When it perishes, [the rest] follow one after another, like a string [of pearls] when its thread is cut"? Can it be used as evidence for the non-extinction of dinosaurs? And what is the ruling on acting upon it if it is not authentic?

This is very weak, if not fabricated. This is due to the defects mentioned in it, among them: Ibn Hibban's statement that it is fabricated, and that Muhammad ibn 'Isa is a denier of hadith, in addition to the weakness of 'Ubaid ibn Waqid. Therefore, it cannot be used as proof, nor can it be relied upon.
