The answer

If you wish to recall something you have forgotten, strive to remember, and supplicate frequently to Allah to help you recall what you have forgotten. Ibn Al-Qayyim mentioned that among the situations where it is recommended to send prayers upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) is when one remembers something and wishes to recall it. He cited a weak with the wording: "If you forget something, send prayers upon me, and you will remember it, Allah willing."
