The the questioner referred to is weak, but showing kindness to orphans is legislated and encouraged. It has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "I and the sponsor of an orphan will be in Paradise like this," and he gestured with his index and middle fingers.
