The answer

has not ceased, and the concerning temporary marriage ( al-mut'ah) is not fabricated but narrated in the Two Sahihs, and its practice was abrogated. The scholars of hadith have sifted through the hadiths and distinguished the authentic from the weak since ancient times. Imam al-Bukhari spent sixteen years compiling his from approximately six hundred thousand hadiths, and he did not leave but a small number after severe scrutiny.
