Is it permissible in Islam to bathe naked?

Scholars have used the hadith (definition) of Moses (peace be upon him) as evidence for the permissibility of being naked while bathing in seclusion, and most scholars have adopted this view. Al-Bukhari titled a chapter, "Chapter: He who bathes naked by himself in seclusion, and he who covers himself – covering is better." The preference for covering is derived from the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Guard your 'awrah except from your wife or your maidservant," and his saying: "Allah is more deserving of shyness than people."
