The question

Is the Hadith, "Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me in his best form, laughing and joyful, and said: 'O Muhammad, the Most High, the Exalted, sends you greetings and says: "Verily, for everything there is a lineage, and My lineage is 'Say: He is Allah, [the] One.' So, whoever from your nation comes to Me having recited 'Say: He is Allah, [the] One' a thousand times in his lifetime, I will obligate him to My abode and the dwelling of My Throne, and I will grant him intercession for seventy of those for whom punishment is due. And were it not that I have sworn upon Myself that every soul shall taste death, I would not have taken his soul," authentic?

The answer

This is not authentic. Al-Suyuti mentioned it in "Al-Ziyadat 'ala al-Mawdu'at" (Additions to Fabricated Hadiths), and he quoted Ibn al-Najjar as saying that Mujashi' fabricates Hadith. As for Abu al- al-Baladi, al-Khatib accused him [of fabrication]. Due to these two narrators, Ibn Iraq al-Kinani impugned it. Al-Shawkani said in "Al-Fawa'id al-Majmu'ah" that its chain of narration includes a fabricator, and its chain also contains Yazid al-Raqashi, who is abandoned, weak, and denounced in Hadith.
