Is what has been reported from Sheikh Abu Ishaq Al-Huwaini, that the Companion Al-Qa’qa’ bin Amr Al-Tamimi did not exist, and that all reports about him are through Saif bin Amr Al-Tamimi, who is accused of lying and fabricating hadith, correct? What is the status of Al-Waqidi, and is he accused of fabricating hadith, or is he merely a narrator? And is he like Imam Al-Tabari in citing all narrations?

The companionship of the famous Qa'qa' ibn Amr has not been authentically established. The hadith (definition) that claims his companionship was narrated by Sayf ibn Amr, who is considered abandoned in hadith and weak.

Al-Waqidi was a vessel of knowledge regarding historical accounts and biographies, but his narration of hadith is rejected, and there is a consensus on his weakness. As for Al-Tabari, he is trustworthy and his narrations are accepted.

Amr ibn al-Hamiq al-Khuza'i was among those who incited against Uthman, but the narrations about his killing are not authenticated. Al-Hasan (definition) al-Basri and Ibn Kathir denied the presence of any Muhajirun or Ansar among those who killed Uthman, with the exception of Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr.
