The answer

The hadiths that praise foods such as: lentils, rice, fava beans, eggplant, pomegranates, raisins, chicory, leeks, watermelon, carrots, cheese, and harisah; all of them are fabricated and falsely attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. None of them are authentic, and it is not permissible to narrate them except to clarify their falsehood. Nothing authentic has been reported concerning the virtue of watermelon, except that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ate it.
