What is the authenticity of the narrations regarding the virtue of pomegranates, such as: "Pomegranate is the master of fruits," "Whoever eats a pomegranate angers his devil for forty mornings," and "When he [the Prophet] ate it, he would not share it with anyone"? And what is the authenticity of the narration reported from al-Sadiq, from his father, from Ali ibn al-Husayn (peace be upon them), that "Whoever eats a pomegranate on an empty stomach on Friday will have his heart illuminated for forty mornings, and the whispering of Satan will be driven away from him, and whoever has the whispering of Satan driven away from him will not disobey Allah Almighty, and whoever does not disobey Allah will be admitted into Paradise"?

These hadiths are not found in the reliable sources that collected hadiths and traditions, and they bear signs of fabrication. Al-Dhahabi mentioned a similar to the third hadith, with the wording: "Whoever eats a pomegranate with its peel, Allah will illuminate his heart for forty nights," among the fabricated hadiths attributed to Ali al-Ridha and his forefathers.
