What is the authenticity of the hadith: "A believer should not be a blind follower—if people do wrong, he does wrong with them, and if they do good, he does good with them"?

The hadith (definition) narrated from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, with the wording: "Do not be 'imma'ah (followers), saying: 'If people are good, we are good, and if they are unjust, we are unjust.' Rather, accustom yourselves: if people are good, then be good; and if they do wrong, then do not commit injustice," has a weak chain of narration. Although the meaning of the hadith is sound, as a believer should improve their beliefs, statements, and actions regardless of what people do, Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen emphasized that a Muslim must be proud of their religion and follow the Sharia (definition) to shape their character, and not be an 'imma'ah who follows every clamorer.
