What is the ruling on one who commits adultery outside his country, and what is the authenticity of the hadith: "Whoever commits adultery in his expatriation will not return safe or victorious"?

This statement is not a Hadith (definition) from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and it is likely a supplication made by one of the preachers. Some scholars have mentioned a phrase close to this meaning in books on fabricated narrations: "Whoever disobeys Allah in his expatriation, Allah will return him disappointed." Sheikh Mulla Ali al-Qari said about it, "It has no basis as far as I know." Adultery is one of the gravest and most heinous sins everywhere.
