Who are the authors of the Six Books, and are there any weak Hadiths in their books?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The authors of the Six Books are: Imam Al-Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Imam Abu Dawud, Imam At-Tirmidhi, Imam An-Nasa'i, and Imam Ibn Majah. The Muslim nation has accepted Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim with widespread approval, and they have agreed upon the authenticity of everything contained within them, with the exception of a very few, minor phrases. As for the rest of the Sunan books, they are not free from the presence of weak narrations.
