Ismail al-Qadi is Imam, Shaykh al-Islam, al-Hafiz Abu Ishaq bin Ishaq bin Ismail al-Baghdadi al-Maliki. He authored many works and was the Shaykh and scholar of the Malikis in Iraq. He explained and defended the Maliki . He compiled the Musnad, Malik, Hadith Ayyub, the Muwatta, a book refuting Muhammad bin al-, Ahkam al-Quran, Ma’ani al-Quran wal-Qira’at, and others. He was born in the 199 AH and died suddenly in 282 AH.
