How sound is the story of the Prophet Jirjis (upon him be peace), which includes his being subjected to torture and death four times and being brought back to life each time, his dealings with the king of Sham and the sorcerer, his miracles, and his testimony before his final death?

The story of Jurjays was mentioned by al-Tabari with his chain of transmission from Wahb ibn Munabbih, and Ibn al-Athir mentioned it without a chain of transmission. Ibn Hajar weakened the assertion of Jurjays' prophethood because historians mentioned that he lived between (the time of) Jesus and our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. This is refuted by the Hadith (definition) in al-Sahihayn: "I am the closest of all people to Jesus; the prophets are like brothers from different mothers, and there was no prophet between me and Jesus."
