How do we reconcile the statement that sins diminish a person's value in the hearts of people with the glorification and love some people have for disbelievers and sinners?

Some people's glorification and love for disbelievers and profligates does not contradict the texts which indicate that people of disobedience and profligacy are punished with hatred and aversion in the hearts. This is because the locus of hatred is the sound hearts of Allah's righteous saints, not the hearts of the profligates themselves. This is supported by the hadith (definition) of Abu Hurayrah in Sahih (definition) Muslim, where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When Allah loves a servant, He calls Gabriel and says: 'I love so-and-so, so love him.' So Gabriel loves him. Then he (Gabriel) calls out in the heavens: 'Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.' So the inhabitants of the heavens love him. Then he (the Prophet) said: 'Then acceptance is placed for him on Earth.' And when He hates a servant, He calls Gabriel and says: 'I hate so-and-so, so hate him.' So Gabriel hates him. Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heavens: 'Indeed, Allah hates so-and-so, so hate him.' He said: 'So they hate him.' Then hatred is placed for him on Earth." Ibn Hubayrah and Al-Qurtubi explained that "acceptance" means the love of the people of goodness and righteousness, and "hatred" means the dislike of the people of goodness and righteousness.
