What is the ruling on growing a beard, along with mentioning the opinions of contemporary scholars?

Extremism in religion is blameworthy. It signifies exaggeration in implementing a command in a way that burdens the soul and causes its aversion and boredom. It does not mean prohibiting the pursuit of perfection in worship. Rather, it refers to excessive voluntary acts that lead to abandoning what is superior, or adhering to the stricter option where a concession is permissible. Some contemporary scholars have stated that shaving the beard is disliked, but a Muslim must follow the Sunnah (definition) of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and emulate him, rather than seeking out scholars' concessions and missteps.
