The answer

If a sick daughter needs a servant, her father, if he is well-off, must pay the servant's wages. A father is obligated to serve his young, sick, or disabled child. A husband must provide for his wife and children equitably, and the wife is not obligated to spend on herself or her children unless she does so voluntarily. A wife's money is her own, and she is not permitted to work outside the home without her husband's permission. If he grants permission on condition that she gives him a portion of her salary or spends it on the household, then she is obligated to fulfill this condition. The obligatory maintenance for a wife is what suffices her in terms of food, housing, and clothing, according to the circumstances of the couple. If the husband spends equitably, he has fulfilled his obligation, and he is not required to give extra allowance beyond the obligatory maintenance.
