The question

What is the ruling on the salary of an employee who suffers from weak eyesight, whose doctor recorded a higher visual acuity than his actual one to enable him to be accepted for a government auditor position, knowing that he is qualified and performs his work efficiently? And does the rule "necessities permit the prohibited" apply to him?

The answer

Deception and fraud are forbidden, and whoever deceives is not one of the Muslims. These behaviors become even more reprehensible because they are characteristics of hypocrites. A Muslim must sincerely repent for past deceptions and firmly resolve not to return to such acts. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent. Money earned from lawful work after repentance is legitimate, and previous deception does not affect it after sincere repentance. Merely obtaining work is not considered a necessity that permits committing what is forbidden, for necessity is to be judged according to its true extent.
