Is working in the maintenance and operation of machinery in a government bakery that sells subsidized flour leftover from scale shortages considered participation in sin, and what should be done to avoid the father's boycott if one leaves the job?
One must adhere to the specified quantity and weight of flour provided by the state to bakeries, due to the general proofs that command fulfillment of contracts and covenants and prohibit deception and shortchanging in weight, such as the Almighty's saying: (O YOU WHO HAVE BELIEVED, FULFILL [ALL] CONTRACTS) and His saying: (WOE TO THOSE WHO SHORTCHANGE). The flour provided through deception is unlawful and forbidden gain.
You must advise those in charge of the bakery to abandon deception and explain the gravity of consuming unlawful earnings. There is no blame upon you for continuing your work as long as you condemn this deception, do not participate in it, and do not assist in it. If you are unable to condemn it, then you must leave the job and seek another permissible one. This will not be considered disobedience.
