What is the ruling on taking a commission from company transactions without the owner's knowledge, and how should the accumulated money be handled? Can it be utilized or donated, and what must be done if the matter is unlawful?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
It is not permissible to take a commission on transactions conducted for the company without the owner's permission. If the employee has a monthly salary, it is not permissible for him to take a commission from another company in exchange for dealing with it, because this may affect the price and quality of the goods. Commissions taken without permission must be returned to their payers. Any part of these that cannot be delivered to its owner must be disposed of by spending it on public interests and charitable causes.
