Does God accept the fasting, zakat, and prayer of an adulterer who persists in adultery, along with all his other deeds, and does He answer his prayers?

Adultery is one of the great abominations, and its perpetrator is unjust to himself. There is no evidence that adultery nullifies the reward of good deeds or prevents their acceptance, but disobedience may be a cause for prayers not to be answered. As for the mentioned Hadith (definition) Qudsi, its text is not preserved. There is no specific evidence for cursing the adulterer in particular, but committing major sins may cause its perpetrator to be deprived of success in righteous deeds.
