Is it permissible to delay the prayer time if leaving the sheep to perform the prayer would lead to them straying into neighboring lands?
Prayer is the second pillar of Islam, and Allah has warned those who are negligent concerning it. Therefore, if herding sheep leads to missing prayers, then it is not permissible for you to remain in this profession, for "there is no good in work that distracts from prayer." And whoever fears Allah, He will provide for him from where he does not expect, because what is with Allah cannot be attained except through obedience to Him, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, the Holy Spirit breathed into my soul that no soul will die until it completes its term and receives its full provision. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking (livelihood). And let not the slowness of provision lead any of you to seek it by disobeying Allah, for indeed, what is with Allah cannot be attained except through obedience to Him."
