The answer

The 'Asr prayer is no less critical than the Fajr prayer. Preserving both of them is among the reasons for seeing Allah Almighty on the Day of Judgment, while neglecting the 'Asr prayer leads to the nullification of deeds. Prayer is the pillar of religion, and neglecting it leads to the loss of everything that comes after it. Allah Almighty said: "So woe to those who pray, [but] who are heedless of their prayer" (Al-Ma'un: 4-5), and "Then succeeded them later generations who neglected prayers and followed sensual desires, so they are going to meet evil" (Maryam: 59). Delaying prayer beyond its prescribed time is a characteristic of hypocrites. It is not permissible to delay it due to work or any other circumstance.
