The question

Will a person be rewarded for letting birds eat from his crops, deliberately refraining from putting anything that would reduce their presence, even though he knows that this will reduce his yield, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No Muslim plants a plant or cultivates a crop, from which a bird or a human or an animal eats, but it will be reckoned as charity for him"?

The answer

For a Muslim to plant or sow, and for birds, humans, or animals to eat from it, is considered a charity for him. And in watering every moist liver, there is a reward. However, abandoning crops to birds to the extent that the Muslim becomes unable to meet essential expenses is forbidden, because fulfilling obligations takes precedence over recommended acts.
